Career services for students
SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT WITH JOMC CAREER SERVICES
Schedule an appointment through the University Career Services appointment scheduling system. Once you are logged into the UCS system, find Jay Eubank, JOMC Career Services director, under the list of counselors. You will be given available times to choose from. Appointments generally last 30 minutes. You may schedule appointments up to two weeks in advance. JOMC Career Services is located in 162 Carroll, next to the Student Services offices on the first floor.
J-school students should schedule an appointment with JOMC Career Services for:
- Help with crafting a resume and cover letter
- Researching internships and jobs
- Enrollment in JOMC 394: Mass Communication Practicum for earning internship credit during the fall, spring or summer
WALK-IN APPOINTMENTS
Walk-in appointments with JOMC Career Services are available 2-3 p.m. on Tuesdays and 10-11 a.m. on Thursdays and Fridays in 162 Carroll. Walk-in appointments are for quick questions and designed to last 10-15 minutes.
Students also may visit University Career Services for walk-in appointments with a career counselor Monday-Friday from 1-4 p.m. UCS is located on the second floor of Hanes Hall, next to Carroll Hall and behind the Campus Y.

- Follow @UNCJCareers for communications-related internships and entry-level jobs
- Earn JOMC credit for an internship
- Careerolina includes job and internship postings targeted to UNC students, and information about on-campus recruiting, career fairs, workshops, employer contacts and more. In addition to Twitter, this is the main way J-school students can find out about internship and entry-level job openings. Students should take advantage of this important service and keep their profiles on the site updated.
