Newspaper resources N.C. Press Association maintains a job bank of newspaper openings (both editorial and advertising) in North Carolina, as well as links to online newspapers in N.C. The Detroit Free Press maintains a comprehensive newspaper jobs career page, the JobsPage, which includes openings with Knight-Ridder newspapers across the country. This site also contains links to other job banks and advice about landing reporting, editing, design and online jobs with newspapers. American Society of Newspaper Editors maintains a newspaper careers site. The Council of PR Firms is a national organization of many of the leading public relations agencies in the world. A couple of very helpful areas: links to member agencies and information about careers in public relations. PR Week magazine is perhaps the most complete trade publication covering the public relations industry. PR Week offers a comprehensive job site at PR Week Jobs. A great starting point for information on public relations activities across the country is the Public Relations Society of America home page. There are links to a number of individual chapters, many of which have job listings and newsletters online, as well as links to individual agencies in particular cities. Among the individual PRSA chapters with Web sites: Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill and RTP) PRSA chapter site. It also maintains a job bank. Triad PRSA chapter is very active. It also maintains a job bank for the Greensboro Winston-Salem High Point area. The Charlotte PRSA chapter meets monthly. It has a job bank with job and internship listings in the Charlotte area. The International Association of Business Communicators is another professional organization for business communications professionals and has chapters throughout the world. USA Jobs is the federal goverment's main job search engine and has listings for hundreds of openings across the world. The NCAA has listings for jobs in media relations, marketing, event promotion and development in college and university athletic departments. French/West/Vaughn is the Southeast’s largest independent public relations, public affairs, brand communications and advertising agency and is based in Raleigh. Capital Strategies is one of the largest communications agencies in North Carolina and is based in Raleigh. The agency offers public relations, advertising, marketing, design and online services. Epley Associates is a North Carolina-based public relations agency with offices in Charlotte and Raleigh. Hill and Knowlton is one of the world's largest public relations agencies. Landmark Communications publishes three major regional newspapers, including the News & Record in Greensboro and The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk.
