Carolina photojournalism students spent five days in the Smoky Mountains this spring photographing the people and places of the region and learning the craft of documentary multimedia storytelling.
In April, 14 students, coached by seven professional multimedia journalists, fanned out from a Waynesville, N.C., base to collect stories to be published online.
Their work was this year’s edition of the annual Carolina Photojournalism Workshop, an intensive photojournalism workshop that is held in a different N.C. location each year. The workshop was founded in 2004 by Associate Professor Pat Davison.
