Tuition

Because the certificate program is supported by state funds and offers academic credit as if students were on campus, the Office of Professional Education is required by the University of North Carolina to charge the same in-state tuition rate that on-campus graduate journalism and mass communication students pay.

That rate for the 2011-2012 academic year is $459 per credit hour, or $1,377 per course plus $73.44 in student fees (a $64.02 educational technology fee, $1.92 registration fee, $.15 UNC Association of Student Governments fee and $7.35 Administrative Computing Fee).

Out-of-state tuition is set at $1,171 per credit hour, or $3,513 per course plus $73.44 in student fees (a $64.02 educational technology fee, $1.92 registration fee, $.15 UNC Association of Student Governments fee and $7.35 Administrative Computing Fee).

Students registering on or after the first day of classes will be charged a $20 late-registration fee.

Students registering on or before the early registration deadline will be billed for their tuition by the University Cashier. Students who wait until after the deadline must pay tuition BEFORE they can register for classes.

Click here to see the University Calendar for registration deadlines.
