Please join us Jan. 11-13 for a weekend of events highlighting the achievements of the school's photojournalism and multimedia alumni. The events are helping to kick off the Picturing the World exhibition, a 30-year retrospective of Carolina photojournalism alumni opening at the Ackland Art Museum on Jan. 11.
This event is an opportunity to say thank you and farewell to Professor Rich Beckman. Beckman has accepted an offer to become the John S. and James L. Knight Chair in Visual Journalism at the University of Miami.
Register now for a luncheon at noon on Saturday, Jan. 12, catered by Bullock's Barbecue in Gerrard Hall on the Carolina campus, and bid farewell to Professor Beckman. Seating will be limited, so registration and pre-payment of $10 per person is required.

Harry Benson
Internationally renowned photographer.
Benson's pictures have appeared in many publications including Life, Vanity Fair, People and The New Yorker.
Pegie Stark Adam
Adam served as director of the Poynter Institute’s Graphics and Design programs from 1991 to 1994. She continues to direct and teach Poynter seminars and is helping coordinate Poynter’s EyeTrack research project. Previously she was a graphics editor at The Detroit News, graphics director at he Detroit Free Press, and art editor/designer at the St. Petersburg Times. She is a design consultant for newspapers, magazines and corporate communications.
