Incumbents in Chapel Hill and Carrboro cruised toward re-election early Tuesday night, except for one seat on the Chapel Hill Town Council contested between incumbent Cam Hill and challenger Matt Czajkowski.

With 37 of 38 precincts reporting, the unofficial results showed:

Chapel Hill voters will re-elect Kevin Foy for mayor, and re-elect Sally Greene,  Bill Strom and Jim Ward for three of the four Town Council member seats.

The race between Matt Czajkowski and Cam Hill for the fourth Chapel Hill seat was too close to call with Czajkowski ahead by less than 70 votes.

In Hillsborough, Tom Stevens is winning his uncontested mayor race, and incumbents Eric Hallman, Evelyn P. Lloyd and Brian J. Lowen will likely fill the three council member positions.

Incumbents Annetta Streater, Jamezetta R. Bedford, Michael Kelley and newcomer Mia Day Burroughs are leading the races for the four seats in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education race.
