Stephanie is director of the Park Library, where she helps students and faculty find useful scholarly resources for their research. She also purchases journals, books and databases for student research.
Stephanie comes to the University of North Carolina from the University of Connecticut, where she provided reference to students and faculty in communication science and psychology. Stephanie taught reference and advanced reference classes for the Graduate School of Library & Information Science at Simmons College for six years. Prior to her work at UConn, she worked at Hampshire College and as the library director for the then Springfield, Mass. Union-News.
Stephanie attended the Poynter Institute seminar "News Libraries: Leadership for the 21st Century" in 1998. She graduated from Simmons College with an M.S. in Library and Information Science and from Mount Holyoke College with a B.A. in French literature and American history.
Stephanie's professional areas of expertise include providing high quality reference and website usability, and she has published in both of those areas. She blogs as CogSci Librarian and is active in many Web 2.0 environments including Facebook, Twitter, foursquare and Google+.
