Janas Sinclair teaches advertising courses including Principles of Advertising and Advertising Media Planning. Her research focuses on consumer trust, advocacy advertising, and effective environmental and scientific communication. She has published articles in the Journal of Advertising, Science Communication, the Journal of Applied Communications and the Proceedings of the American Academy of Advertising. Sinclair served as a co-principal investigator on a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service grant to develop strategy for communicating with local government decision-makers. Before joining the faculty at UNC, she was an assistant professor in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at Florida International University in Miami.
