Lecturer M.A., University of Minnesota B.A., University of Notre Dame Paul O'Connor teaches editorial and advocacy writing, news writing and news reporting. In the past, he has taught courses on legislative reporting and column writing.
O’Connor has a wealth of political and government reporting experience with more than 32 years of professional newspaper experience. He began specializing in state government reporting during a three-year stint with The Raleigh (N.C.) Times, 1979-82. He was an editorial writer for the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Journal for 12 years, and spent 22 years writing a statewide, syndicated column on state politics for the Capitol Press Association.
O’Connor taught copywriting and editing at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Pembroke, N.C., and a special writing course in the master's program for public administration at N.C. State University in Raleigh, N.C.
