Lecturer A.A., Stephens College Val Lauder teaches "Feature Writing" in the School's news-editorial sequence. She was a feature writer and a daily columnist for the Chicago Daily News for seven years, during which time she was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and featured in the Press sections of Time and Newsweek. In New York, Lauder was school editor of Ingenue magazine and editor-in-chief of Scholastic Roto. Her freelance work has appeared in The New York Times Travel Section, American Heritage, Travel & Leisure, Yankee and Southern Accents. A former president of the N.C. Press Club and the N.C. Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, she is and has been for many years listed in Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World.
