Five J-school students selected for Dow Jones editing internships

Five UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication students have been selected for editing internships through the Dow Jones News Fund.

Each year, the prestigious program offers about 90 summer internships at newspapers and websites throughout the country. Selected students receive a paid internship, a $1,000 scholarship and a week at an “editing bootcamp.”

Here are the winners from the school and the sites of their internships in summer 2012:
  • Jackie Kantor, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
  • Miranda Murray, Media General editing hub in Richmond, Va.
  • Kevin Shaffer, Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle
  • Catherine Sum, The New York Times
