J-school students participate in Mountain Workshops

Six students from the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication participated in the 2011 Mountain Workshops — three concurrent workshops hosted by Western Kentucky University that fine-tuned photography, picture-editing and multimedia skills of college students and mid-career professionals — held Oct. 18-22. This year’s workshops documented Somerset, Ky., and its surrounding countryside.

Assistant professor Chad A. Stevens served as a coach during the workshops.

The cover of the annual Mountain Workshops book featured photography by Caitlyn Greene, a May 2011 graduate who attended the 2010 Mountain Workshops. View the book at mountainworkshops.org/book.
