The UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication offers undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees in journalism and mass communication.
The school is a recognized leader in teaching, research and public service. Media organizations and other businesses look to us for graduates to hire and for research and professional partnerships of many kinds.
We're fortunate to be in a dynamic, growing field. The study of mass communication is essential around the world, crucial today as never before. It will continue to grow as society becomes increasingly complex and as knowledge advances everywhere, resulting in an enormous growth in specialized information and technology.
Our popularity with students also continues to grow. More than 1,000 juniors and seniors and 100 graduate students are now enrolled in the school. Add in the 500 or so premajor freshmen and sophomores, and we are the third-largest major on campus.
We invite you to learn more and join the tradition of excellence at the school.
