Hearst Visiting Professionals Program
The school was one of only five programs in the nation originally selected by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation in 1990 to receive an endowment of $200,000 to bring in several mass communication professionals each year to talk to classes and visit with students in small groups. Other schools were selected later.
