Assistant director for development
B.A., Journalism and Mass Communication, UNC-Chapel Hill
 Cauthren graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in December 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and Communication Studies. After graduation, he worked as a free-lance writer for several local newspapers and magazines. He covered crime in Durham for the Herald-Sun, wrote real estate features for The Chapel Hill News and covered the University community for the Carolina Alumni Review. Cauthren joined the journalism school's development and alumni affairs team in June 2004. He aids Speed Hallman, assistant dean for development, and works with the Journalism Alumni and Friends Association (JAFA), helping coordinate alumni stewardship and programs and managing other office activities.
