Ad Club hosts professional symposium
The UNC Advertising Club will host 150 students and 25 professionals for the fourth annual Advertising Career Symposium in the Great Hall of the student union on Friday, Feb. 22, from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Students will mingle with industry leaders and executives in advertising, public relations and marketing. Panels and round table discussions will help students learn how to land a job or internship, discuss the latest marketing trends, and correct misconceptions or affirm truths about the industry.
The symposium was been featured in AdWeek magazine’s online periodical.
The keynote speaker is Brad Brinegar, chairman and CEO of McKinney, the award-winning agency in Durham. McKinney’s creations include Audi of America's Art of the Heist and Travelocity's Roaming Gnome.
Other companies represented include Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Wieden + Kennedy, The Wonderfactory, The Martin Agency, Nike, the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Carolina Hurricanes. Professionals from leading advertising agencies, marketing companies and sports teams will participate in five panels:
