An honors program is available to students who have demonstrated their ability to perform distinguished work. Admission to the honors courses (JOMC 691 and 692) is based on a GPA of 3.5 or better in the major and overall, recommendation by a faculty member in the school, and approval of the director of the honors program, Professor Jane Brown.
Students write an honors thesis on a topic related to mass communication and defend it before a faculty committee. They graduate with honors or with highest honors.
